This afternoon I went down the hill to our lovely pond to read a little of this book.

But look who arrived on the scene! We met this family of Canada geese the day after we moved in. The six goslings have grown so much in two weeks.

Naturally I had to set aside my book for a photo shoot. Here are three babies following mom up the hill on a quest for yummy bugs.

Mmm, tasty.

Mom and dad confer with each other as to the best route.

While the babies pose for the camera.

Off they go, continuing on their quest.

Dad shows them a good spot under the tree.

Mom shows the others some good spots.

One gosling is content to play by himself.

Time for a rest. Eating is hard work!

At this point, mom was getting a little nervous of me and my camera, so I focused on the water fountain for a while to make her feel more comfortable.

Dad says it's time to go.

And off they waddle.

All eight.

They are indeed cute little fuzz-balls. I'm enjoying watching them grow.
